Is Viber associated with the SIM card?

Q.

I am in Australia and intend to travel in Asia.
[a] Will Viber work with my current Australian Sim Card or do I have to install a new Sim Card in Asia for Viber to work?
[b] Will I have to make any prefix adjustments to my number when travelling in Asia?
Thank you

A. Since Viber is associated with your phone itself (not the SIM card), then even if you go abroad and even switch SIM cards, Viber keeps its identity as the original number with which you registered. About the prefix changes - the same idea: if you Viber-call people in Australia using Viber, you can still dial/save their number the local way.
