Yes there is and you can find it at the Android Market.
If you are reading this post with your Android device, just click on this link www.viber.com/dl and install the application.
Keep in mind that Viber for Android works with Android versions 2.0 and higher.
how can I get the access code?! just wait for the invitation mail?!!! I really want to try this!!
Yes that waiting is a little bit annoying. I'm not sure why they done it that way. Hope that the official release come out soon.
The Beta project was initially announced as a closed-group project. We never claimed it to be public, and we wanted an exclusive group of beta-testers to report bugs to us so we can fix them before we open it up for the public.
That's why we did it this way. And I wouldn't call it "Annoying".
I have been waiting for 8 weeks, very disappointed, would love to get rid of skype
The wait is nearly over. The beta version of Viber-for-Android is going to become public very (VERY) soon, and will appear in Market. Stay tuned in our Facebook page for the latest updates on that: http://www.facebook.com/viber
It's now available on Market, go and download it, and enjoy!
I have a SonyEricsson X10 with Eclair, but Android market denied to install. Don't know why… It's Android 2.1, isn't it?
What do you mean "denied"?
Can you be more specific?
i have a samsung galaxy s 2.1 and when i want to call someone ( or get called by someone) it automatically disconnects after 5 seconds all the time…and i cant hear anything or dont hear anything during the 5 seconds i've a connection. any ideas?
1. What country do you live in? Which cellular network?
2. Are you using Viber on 3G or WiFi?
3. Do your friends on the same network experience the same issue, or is it only you?
I installed it on my Motorola Atrix. I can hear but the receiver cannot hear my voice unfortunately. Texting is ok both ways.
Unfortunately, Viber does not officially support Atrix yet, and that’s because it’s quite a rare device. We might be adding full support in the future, but for now there is not much we can do 🙁
We apologize for the inconvenience. We recommend you to try our upcoming Viber 2.1 release (within a few weeks) and see if it works better on your Atrix
I’m using Samsung Galaxy S2, I don’t know why I can’t use viber over 3G, It always said pending connection. It work well with wifi but no 3G
It sounds like your cellular provider is blocking Viber on their 3G network (this is a known phenomenon in some providers).
What country are you located in? Which cellular network?
does viber work on the motorola flipout Android OS, v2.1 (Eclair) or not yet???
We haven’t yet tested Viber on Flipout yet. Please check out our list of officially supported devices at: http://helpme.viber.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/45/10/is-your-android-compatible-with-viber-system-requirements which we keep updating. In the meantime, please feel free to download Viber from the market, try it out and we would be happy to receive your feedback.
We are working hard on adapting Viber to more and more devices.
how can i stop viber being my mobiles default. i did have the choice before and now it automatically goes to viber. i want my choice back
The option to choose a default dialer is the phone’s option, not Viber’s.
What phone are you using?
the other side can barley here me?
What phones are both of you using?
I’m using a Samsung Galaxy S2 and i tried calling my friend *Iphone4* . My friend can hear me but i can’t hear my friend . so i tried to uninstall and install back. it still din’t work . and its not my WI-FI problem .
Are you running a Custom ROM?
How do I know whether I am using a Custom ROM? Viber worked fine before, I don’t believe I did an update for Viber which made Viber stop working.. I am usuing a Samsumg Galaxy SI – any idea how to make it work again?
Please make sure neither you nor the other side are connected to networks that might be blocking Viber (for example – a router running a firewall).
1. First, please try uninstalling and reinstalling Viber when connected to different WiFi networks. Does it work now?
2. Also, please make sure the following ports are enabled on your routers or firewalls:
TCP: 5242 + 4244
UDP: 5243 + 9785
(if you are not sure how to enable ports, contact your router manufacturer)
I have again un- and reinstalled viber. It is still the same. I can make and receive calls, and the conversational partner can hear what i say, but I can’t hear anything from the other line. I have tried to call several Viber contacts, it’s the same with all of them, whereas their viber works just fine when they use it to call others.
The ports are enabled on the firewall/router. Also, viber seems to make my phone stop working now. 🙁
Really sad cause it worked so great in the beginning and I’d really love to keep using it.
Thanks for your help!
hi i want viber. but how can do it?
Viber is currently available for iPhone/Android. If you have an iPhone or Android, download it from AppStore/Market.
Will galaxy y work with viber
We haven’t thoroughly tested Viber on this specific device yet. You can check out our list of officially supported devices at: http://bit.ly/rqbZEw
However, we did receive reports from Galaxy Y users who said it work relatively fine with no special problems. Try it out yourself 🙂
When is Viber for BlackBerry coming out ? 🙁 I’ve been waiting for it for moths now
You will be pleased to know that Viber for Blackberry is coming soon.
We are in the final stages of testing and coordination with RIM, and if all goes as planned, it should be released very soon! Stay tuned for news 🙂
So I can only use this with Android or Iphone?
Meanwhile, yes (and also with iPods and iPads).
It’s still coming also to Blackberry and Symbian.
i didnt get any access code by sms or by call.my phone is samsung galaxt fit GT S-5670 ..PLEASE tell me if its compatible or not?
However, in the meantime you can still download Viber from Market, try it out and we would be happy to receive your feedback on how it works on your device so we could improve Viber accordingly.
If you didn’t receive the code – please try removing Viber, wait 24 hours, reinstall and try again (make sure you try both the SMS and the automated call options). If this doesn’t help, contact our support team at http://support.viber.com and give them the details of the problem.
hi i download a viber application here at singapore in my phone im using samsung galaxy S2 GT-19100 when i reach philippines im using a smart simcard i wasn’t able to register my number if i havent recieved a code, this morning a recieved the code and register my no.in viber but apparently without even noticing my load account balance was deducted even i use viber to call my wife in singapore she is using iphone 4s, and now when i call my wife through viber it shows that viber service is currently unavailable or being blocked. please try again later. place a regular call instead? how can i use a free viber if this appears in my handphone? please help..
It could be that the network you are connected to is blocking Viber’s traffic.
1. First, please try uninstalling and reinstalling Viber when connecting to a few different WiFi networks (in order to pinpoint the source of the problem). What are the results?
2. Also, please make sure the following ports are enabled (“forwarded”) on your routers or firewalls:
TCP: 5242 + 4244
UDP: 5243 + 9785
(if you are not sure how to enable ports, you may contact your router manufacturer)
hi, i have installed viber on my samsung galaxy ace (vodafone/ UK) and it seems to not work for 1 contact – the message is “This contact no longer has Viber installed” – but we are both able to use it to communicate with other contacts. How do I fix it? please help!
The source of this issue could greatly vary. Please read this short page in our HelpDesk, outlining some possible workarounds that will help reboot synchronization of the contact list: http://bit.ly/rRtPqk
(The instructions refer to iPhone, but are relevant to all phones nevertheless).
Does viber have a feature to block unwanted/abusive contacts?
Whatsapp has this feature and it’d be pretty useful in viber as it supports voice calls and there seems no way of stopping unwanted or spamming calls.
I know it works like a regular phone number but i don’t have control who can contact me on viber is frustrating sometime. Please consider adding this ability and file sharing in next viber updates.
Unfortunately, this feature is not available yet. We are considering to add it in future versions.
Meanwhile, we invite you to enter our Feature Request page and post your suggestion there, or join an existing similar suggestion. The more people join on a request, the faster it will become reality 🙂
