    How about a Viber for WindowsMobile 6.6 and Windows Phone 7.
    And i mean for BOTH.
    There are still so many WindowsMobile 6.x smartphones in use that i really don’t understand that companies don’t port to WinMob 6.x

      Viber for Windows Phone is actually already under development. As it seems now, we will probably be supporting WP7 and above in the future, since prior versions have internal problems with handling VoIP.

      But it’s still very early to discuss this. We recommend you to follow our Facebook page for the latest updates and news.

    Is viber for blackberry curve out???? Is BB curve compatible to Viber??? I am looking forward to buy BB and I need Viber since all my friends and family members are in abroad :)

      At this stage, we estimate that Viber will be compatible with Blackberry OS 6.0 and above, regardless of the device type.

      But once we are close to officially releasing it (soon), we will have more concrete info :)

      Viber uses about 0.3MB per minute of call, and only 1KB per text message, so the choice is yours :)

      Note that if you are connected to WiFi when using Viber, it does not come off your data plan at all.

    I noted in the Recent Comments that the claim is UAE has blocked Viber. I am currently in the UAE (have been for over 3 months) it’s one of the main ways I communicate with ppl in the USA. I don’t use the phone function but I use the text and it works perfect.

        DU WIFI & 3G are working perfectly but in Etisalat Viber is blocked in both 3G & WIFI you need to use any free VPN just to connect viber then it will work

          Yes this confirms what we know.

          The authorities in the UAE have decided to block Viber in the whole country, and unfortunately there is not much we can do to help :(
          Try contacting the authorities and ask for the reason for this block.

      Currently, Viber uses your phone’s general sound/vibration settings. In the future, we plan to add specific settings for that inside Viber’s settings.

    arghh!!! driving me crazy!! please help!..how can I install viber on my blackberry 9360, I’m living in Dubai, UAE. Already try setting up my account on google, mobile number, but still it doesnt show my number in the account…please help from step 1 coz my skills on this tech things are not good at all

      The authorities in the UAE have decided to block Viber in the whole country, and that is why you are experiencing this issue. Unfortunately there is not much we can do to help :(
      Try contacting the authorities and ask for the reason for this block.

    Well, don’t make a big deal out of it please. It will be similar to Messages beta for Mac. It will not be a beta in the next release of Mac OS. If you wanna verify ppl for the same account used on their phones, then just send a code from their desktop client to the phone and they enter the code and done. This is done by many applications since ages ago. There are a lot of similar apps now in the market, u wanna get a head of them, release the simple app for desktop and allow multi use of an account.

    I currently live in Timor-Leste and love using Viber to contact my friends abroad. Since the only cellular provider (Timor Telecom) has upgraded all numbers, now there´s an additional 7 at the beginning of the numbers (8 characters). Because I installed the new version of Viber and need to get the activation code, I can´t get it because Viber only recognises the old numbers (7 characters). And even if I insert the old number I still can´t get it (using both sms and automated call) because no messages or calls go through when using the old number.
    When will Viber upgrade Timor-Leste´s numbers so we can use it?

    Been using viber (on my android phone) for quite sometime and have not had major problems. Unfortunately, since I updated to 2.3 version, I am unable to send photos anymore? What could the problem be? Thanks in advance for your help.

            So excited an update message popped out on my cell phone awhile ago and readily installed the latest version (2.3.1) of viber. Unfortunately, it still did not address the problem I raised about not being able to share photos in my gallery. What a letdown….so sad….why viber?
