I did not get my Access Code. What can I do?

Usually, activating Viber does not present a problem. However, in some cases, more specifically, in certain countries and in case of certain mobile operators, the activation can somehow get stuck.

During the installation process, you should get your access code by SMS. If you don’t receive SMS within 1 minute, you can try pressing the “No code?” button which will guide you through an automatic call procedure. Accept the call, write down the access code and enter it into Viber.

If the automatic call does not work (did not manage to get through), try uninstalling Viber and wait for 24 hours. After that period, try installing it again from the begining.

If even that does not work, you can post your problem at Viber Support. There is a wizard which will guide you through the process of describing the problem. Finish the wizard and support team will contact you in a few days.

    Hey there fellow Viber boys and girls. I’m not receiving the sms code… I’ve had a G1, a Mytouch3G and a HTC Aria. Although it wouldn’t work on the G1 or the MyTouch3g it was receiving the code. Now I moved on to a Nexus S. At first I thought it would be the phone. But then I tried to reinstall it on the MT3G and the G1 and the SMS didn’t come either.

    I’m in Costa Rica and I wasn’t having trouble until now. Can you guys help me?

      First, if you’re using the exact same phone number on your new Nexus S, please try using the old code you received back then (that worked), if you still have it.

    Doing some tests on my phone i deleted my account from your service. Now when i try to register again, dont get any sms or call (both methods i already tried).

    There is some i can do to fix this?. Also tried deleting viber and installing to register again after >= 24hs, and nothing happens.

    I have the same problem. After using Viber for a month, it deactivated itself on Dec 20th during the updates. (Picked up my phone and there was a viber screen saying it was deactivated). When I tried to reactivate it, I never received the SMS. I received the callback but there was no audio code. I tried uninstalling it, waiting 24 hours and trying again. I’ve tried every day the past three days. I am desperate for my Viber! I’m on Virgin Mobile, USA, LG Optimus V, Android 2.2.1, tried 3G and wireless. And when I go to support.viber.com I don’t see anywhere to contact the support team to describe my problem. None of the solutions for getting the code worked for me. Maybe there isn’t a general problem, but obviously something changed Dec 20 so that a lot of people aren’t getting their access code. Thanks for any help! I LOVE VIBER!

        Yes I did try waiting 24 hours after removing it. But when I go to the viber support page there is a help wizard, and I’ve gone through it multiple times, but i don’t see any place to leave a ticket with specific information? It just says unforunately some people are unable to receive the code, and there is a BACK button, but nowhere to leave a ticket. Am I looking in the right place?

          Ok, I found a way to leave a ticket. The way I was proceeding throuh the wizard left me at a dead end, but if you say: Android issue, General Information, Bug report, it takes you to a form for leaving a ticket. FINALLY. I was saying Android, Trouble with code, Didn’t receive via SMS or Calback…. and that does NOT take you to a ticket!

    I am using iphone4s in Japan. I downloaded Viber but did not receive access code through automatic phone call. Mobile operator is [au]. I came to know that au can not receive international SMS, so automatic call is a only way.
    When I installed viber first time, I received automatic phone call 2 times but there was only noise. Then I repeated the whole process more than 10 times which is described in [Viber support], but did not get access code phone call.
    - tried again and again within the next 24 hours.
    - uninstalled and reinstalled / downloaded more than 10 times
    - WiFi is On and connected
    - Internet is connected during viber set up. (safari, appstore, skype works)
    - country code and phone no is also correct.
    Please let me know, how can i receive access code through automatic phone call.

      We are checking these days whether this is an issue with our servers, or rather with the cellular providers in Japan.

    Hi. I have the original iPhone with an iOs of 3.1.2… I downloaded the viber application but during the setup, after I entered my mobile number, this message saying that viber can’t push through notifications keep appearing, even after I rebooted my phone, turned on the notifications, it still won’t work. The same message kept on appearing, the “can’t push through notifications” whatever message.

    Please help. :( I really need to call someone abroad who has a viber too. And I can’t run the push notifications test in the app store because it requires an iOs of 4.0… Is there any other way, please?

      Please note that Viber does not officially support iPhone 3G at this stage, as stated in our website (we support iPhone 3Gs and above), and that is probably the reason to the problems you are experiencing. Most problems are caused due to the fact that iPhone 3G and older versions do not support the multi-tasking option, and so Viber cannot stay available when not running in the foreground.

      Moreoever, the cause of this problem might be the fact that your iPhone is jailbroken/hacktivated, and that interferes with Push Notifications in your iPhone.       Unfortunately there is no way for us to suggest how to bypass this block. What you could try to do is register Viber using a number outside of Syria (number of a friend abroad, for example), but please note that this means that your Viber ID will be that friend’s number!

    Dears,
    I have been trying to receive my registration code in order to use viber on my samsung galaxy s3 , the problem is that i am not getting the code through sms neither by the phone call .
    Please note that i have tried to change mobile , to wait 24hrs than uninstalling the app and trying all over again on WIFI and on 3G but nothing actually worked .
    Also note that users on the same network operator are not having this problem with viber I am actually from Lebanon .

      hi, u must be using home wifi to get this resolved. the same problem i also faced. rather than using the home wifi, try using the phone gsm or 3g connection for getting this registered. it will happen instantaneously… then once done, you can use the nromal wifi conection for future…. i hope it helps u

    Hello! I am using Viber in Japan. I’m now on my second Android phone. Viber worked great on my first phone, but now I am trying to activate it again and I can’t. Every time I type my number in no code shows up.       Our code delivery mechanism is completely automated, and requires an active phone number in order to receive our SMS or automatic call with code.

      After registering successfully with that code, then cellular reception is no longer needed.

After at least 10 secs I received a call from +96280099995 but I don’t hear any voice message and I don’t know if it really comes from viber i’ve waited for at least 30 seconds on the line.           Actually, we see our system of using only phone authentication as a more secure one. It is harder to gain access of a physical phone in order to register to Viber and obtain that Viber number, then it is to use someone’s email to receive the code and simply ‘decide’ the phone number.

          Our current mechanism of authentication guarantees that it is indeed the phone owner who’s registering to Viber.

I uninstalled it in order to protect my conversations there. So now I’m trying to install it again and I receive no activation code.     But nothing happens after that!
    I tried to send my number with another phone (android).So I had a phone call but there is no voice in this call and it hangs up and I can’t receive!
    Now what should I do?

            In the UAE (Gulf region) it was decided to block viber as a part of the censorship policy in order to support their communication companies. However, a VPN server installed on your devices will easily bypass this censorship. But they’re too lazy to investigate their own servers and just give you any answer just to shut you up. “Of course the UAE censorship is effective in Canada” Viber would answer you ;)

      You can delete calls from your call log by following the steps below:

      1. Go to the call screen
      2. Find the call you would like to delete
      3. Swipe the call line to the left
      4. Select the ”X on the right when it is exposed

      There is no option to delete the entire call log in one action.

    Hi, I just bought an iPhone 5c last night and now l am trying to install viber the same way l did on my last phone, but now it isnt sending me a code, Also, when I click “no code?” it wont even send me to the automatic phone call. I have tried everything, even emailing a viber worker, all he did was tell me to reread the articles, which l already have read and tried step by step. I have tried everything, and l need viber asap.     well, viber could come up with a new process to send access code.

    my suggestion to viber is:-

    1. viber could send access code via email. Verify the email first then send the access code.
    2. there could be a calling number of viber where we can call on our own with the same number and get the access code.

    its very easy. hope viber you are reading my idea, i am having the same problem of not receiving the access code.

    i found that it is some kind of your security problem, so, is there any solution for it?

      Your phone number is your unique Viber ID which can only be activated on one mobile device at a time. If you have Viber installed on your phone, it cannot be activated on anyone else’s phone.

    When trying to set up viber on my iPhone 4, I put in my mobile number and it says it will send an access code. The access code doesn’t send, and I never get a screen that asks for the access code and there is nowhere to press “No Code?”, it just goes straight to contacts where it says “My Number: (null)” and does not let me try again unless I shut down the app. If I restart the app, it brings me back to the beginning. Every time it does the same thing where it does not give me an access code, but it also never shows a screen to enter the access code. I know that this page is missing because when I installed viber on my iPhone 4s, I did see this page, and it installed correctly, but I can’t get the install to work on the iPhone 4. I went through the whole faq to try to get the access code and make sure the phone is able to receive sms and everything else is working fine.
